Last bits of France before the departure / Un peu de France avant le départ

10/01/2016: after spending Christmas in Ireland with some friends, I am back in France for the last days before heading to Asia. I visited my sister Perrine in Bordeaux and took this opportunity to discover the town. We then went together to Clermont-Ferrand where we celebrated the New Year’s Eve and my cousin Hervé’s wedding with Nina. Some days ago Asia (my girlfriend, not the continent) came to France to spend the last days before the trip with me. We went to le Grau-du-Roi, with a stop on the grave of George Brassens, a great French singer. We also visited some of Nimes’s emblematic monuments like “La tour Magne” and the “Jardin de la Fontaine” (fountain’s garden).

Now Asia is back to Ireland, and I am ready to leave too. The backpack is full and heavy, but I think nothing is missing. The flight tickets are printed and the first hotel in Mongolia is booked. I am slightly stressed but mostly excited by the new adventure which is about to start. In a couple of days I will be back to Paris in Adrien and Cecile’s family, who will give me a lift to Roissy Airport, from where I will leave Europe.

10/01/2016: après avoir passé Noël en Irlande avec des amis, je suis rentré en France pour les derniers jours avant le départ vers l’Asie. J’ai rendu visite à ma sœur Perrine à Bordeaux, et j’en ai profité pour visiter la ville. Ensuite nous sommes partis ensemble vers Clermont-Ferrand où nous avons fêté le jour de l’an ainsi que le mariage de mon cousin Hervé avec Nina. Il y a quelques jours Asia (ma copine, pas le continent) m’a rejoint en France pour passer ces derniers moments avant le voyage avec moi. Nous sommes allés au Grau-du-Roi en passant par la tombe de Brassens, puis nous avons visité quelques-uns des monuments les plus emblématiques de Nîmes comme la Tour Magne et le Jardin de la Fontaine.

Asia est maintenant rentrée en Irlande et je suis prêt à partir aussi. Le sac à dos est plein et lourd, mais je pense que rien ne manque. Les billets d’avion sont imprimés et le premier hôtel en Mongolie est réservé. Je suis légèrement stressé, mais surtout excité par cette nouvelle aventure qui va bientôt commencer. Dans deux jours je partirai chez Adrien et Cécile qui m’amèneront à l’aéroport de Roissy, d’où je quitterai l’Europe.
