15/01/2016: here I am, I finally left Europe! My last days in France were, as usual, nicely spent at Adrien and Cecile’s place, and yesterday he drove me to Roissy Airport where I took my first flight to Doha. As an Airbus fan, I was glad to fly in an A380 from Qatar Airways for the first time! Once there, the transfer was quick and easy enough, and I got my second flight to Seoul without any issue. The flight itself went very well too, and I am now in Incheon Airport (very close to Seoul, South Korea).
We landed late in the evening and the waiting time before the next and final flight to Mongolia is quite long (around 11 hours), which is not an issue in this airport as there is a lot to do. First I tasted my first real beef Bulgogi. I ended up with a tray filled with small plates and got pretty confused as to what to do with all of those. Watching people around me doing, I assumed I had to mix everything together, and I did. It was very tasty!
Before looking for a place to rest a bit tonight, I registered to one of the free touristic tours they offer for tomorrow morning (called Transit Tour). I then found an empty kind of dorm with comfortable couches where I managed to lay down a bit, and even slept for a little while. In the morning I went to the meeting point at the agreed time for the tour. A few others passengers were here too, enjoying this nice feature offered by the airport: you can chose the length of the tour depending on the time you have in your hands. I took the short one: for one hour, you get in a bus that drives you to a temple nearby (Yonggungsa), and back. The bus was great and we had a nice and knowledgeable guide. We then came back as planned after an hour. I really enjoyed this airport and its polite and respectful employees. I am now ready for the next step: Mongolia!
15/01/2016: ça y est, j’ai enfin quitté l’Europe ! J’ai passé mes derniers jours en France chez Adrien et Cécile de manière très agréable, comme d’habitude. Hier Adrien m’a accompagné à Roissy d’où j’ai pris mon premier vol vers Doha. En tant que fan d’Airbus, j’étais heureux de voler pour la première fois dans un A380 de Qatar Airlines ! Une fois sur place, la correspondance fut assez rapide et facile, et j’ai pris mon deuxième vol vers Séoul sans problème. Le vol en lui-même s’est très bien passé et je suis maintenant à l’aéroport d’Incheon (nom officiel de l’aéroport de Séoul).
Nous avons atterri tard le soir et mon attente avant le prochain et dernier vol est assez longue (11 heures environ), ce qui n’est pas un problème car il y a beaucoup de choses à faire dans cet aéroport. Tout d’abord j’ai gouté mon premier Bulgogi de bœuf : je me suis retrouvé avec un plateau rempli de petits plats et je n’avais aucune idée de la façon de le manger. En regardant ce que faisaient mes voisins, j’en ai déduit qu’il fallait simplement tout mélanger, ce que j’ai fait, et je me suis régalé !
Avant de chercher un coin où passer la nuit, je me suis inscrit à un de ces tours proposés gratuitement pour demain matin (les Transit tours). Ensuite, j’ai trouvé un genre de dortoir vide avec des banquettes confortables sur lesquelles j’ai pu m’allonger et même dormir un peu. Le matin je me suis rendu au point de rendez-vous où d’autres passagers attendaient aussi de profiter des tours gratuits : c’est une super initiative offerte par l’aéroport qui permet de partir avec un guide pour visiter des lieux touristiques. On peut choisir sa durée en fonction du temps que l’on a devant nous, et un bus nous amène visiter différentes attractions. Pour ma part j’ai pris le plus court : une heure pour aller voir un petit temple (Yonggungsa) et revenir. Le bus et le guide étaient parfaits, et nous sommes revenus dans les temps pour la poursuite du voyage. J’ai beaucoup aimé cet aéroport et ses employés très polis et respectueux ! Maintenant me voilà prêt pour la prochaine étape : la Mongolie !
